Name: Nyterops hollandi van Viersen, 2007
Stratigraphy: Hanonet Formation; upper Eifelian
Locality: Resteigne, Ardennes, Belgium

This species was named after Dieter Holland who skillfully prepared the type series. It is fairly common in shales in the Resteigne area but less common in limestones. Nyterops nyter from the Eifel is principally and very easily distinguished by the amount of lenses per vertical row in the eye: maximally 5 lenses for N. nyter as against maximally 4 lenses for N. hollandi.
